Product Care
We don’t lacquer or varnish our toy shelves as families have varying requirements for their items and what they feel comfortable using for their children and personal aesthetic preferences.
Hardware stores can provide advice if you would like something hardwearing, please be aware that some products contain ingredients that might not be suitable for children. Please review product information and make your own judgement on its suitability to your family.
We highly recommend sealing it prior to use as it is a soft wood and if left unsealed will easily mark or dent.
Our shelves are individually handcrafted. They are not mass produced in a factory therefore the dimensions can sometimes vary a few millimetres. You may notice slight imperfections due to the nature of working with a natural material; we do not consider these faults. Each shelf has unique markings in the grain of the timber, so may differ from the ones pictured.
We do offer free delivery (Perth Metro) – for built shelves when you book our Toysort & Playroom Set Services.

The HILKA Toy shelves have been the perfect addition to our home. Not only do they look amazing aesthetically, they are beautifully handmade and extremely functional. The quality of the shelves is excellent. They are easy to keep clean. We decided to purchase two of the double shelves having two boys of different ages and abilities (5 years and 18 months). We love that you are not limited to the numbers of toys and activities that you can display at one time and neither do you feel that you have to have a certain number of toys displayed to match the number of cubes as with shelves we have owned previously. We are so pleased that we invested in the HILKA shelves for our play space.

I love love love these shelves. They’re beautiful, sturdy and easy to move around. I love that they can fit baby toys and bigger kid toys (including a barbie food truck!)

am obsessed with these shelves. They’re made of beautiful wood material. They are super sturdy but still easy to move. They are the perfect size for toddlers to pull up on or crawl through to explore. The only problem is they don’t look like the picture. In the picture they look like they come with special baskets and toys sourced all around the world in specific op shops that one can never find.
